caetano veloso e gal costa

caetano and gal are two main acts of popular-than-ever 1960 "movement" tropicalia. both are from bahia (northeast brazil) and moved to rio de janeiro in the early 60's. before getting deeply into complex arrangements of their later works, they recorded this amazingly simple and beautiful record. it was their first record and the only they did as a duo.

hello people. i've been a fan of these music blogs for a while now and never thought about making one. however, i've always wanted to show the whole world how good brazilian music is. i almost made a podcast but i think people are too lazy to download podcasts. so i made this little blog and this is what the blog is about. music from brazil. sure, we do have a lot of awful music like everywhere else. but the good stuff is incredible, and trust me, there is a lot of that.

i'm not much of a web designer so i'm just using this blogger template, but i'll try to make a better one. also for now, i'll host 56kbps mp3s for those who would rather stream before downloading and a better quality version on yousendit, which sucks, i know! if anyone knows of a better free host, let me know. or a cheap one. i know ezarchive might be the best out there but US$5 is about $15 of our money, uh oh, so by cheap, i mean extremely cheap!
